10 stops · approx. 1-2 hrs · Start MuseumsQuartier → Finish Stiftgasse
Vienna's smallest house, a space invader stuck to a wall, and a meadow growing vertically up a façade: the Spittelberg keeps its oddities at eye level, and almost everyone walks straight past them. Once a suburb outside the city walls, home to craftsmen, artists and workers, today it's one of Vienna's most charming quarters — and the narrow lanes still hold what the crowds on Mariahilfer Straße never see. On this riddle tour you'll walk from the MuseumsQuartier and the Leopold Museum through the alleys past Witwe Bolte, the Amerlingbeisl and the Theater am Spittelberg to the Stiftskirche. At 11 stops, riddles await that can only be solved on site: house signs, façade details and small surprises hiding in plain sight. No guidebook or prior knowledge required, just keep your eyes open. All riddles can be solved from the outside; no admission tickets needed.
